Over 300 Thanksgiving meals
served to families in the community!

To work through the schools in order to provide meals and support to less fortunate families in our community, focusing on delivering Thanksgiving dinners to those who would not otherwise have the means to enjoy them.

Our Story

A Place at the Table was born out of a deeply moving moment at a conference, where I heard a man share his story of growing up in a family of five living in their truck. As the eldest, he relied on free school meals, saving his lunch to bring home to his younger siblings, who weren’t yet school-aged. But when school was out—especially during the holidays—there was no safety net. He described spending the week before Thanksgiving coloring pictures of food he longed for, knowing there would be no meal waiting for him. That story broke me. I knew I had to act.

That September, I reached out to my son’s teacher, asking if any students needed Thanksgiving support. She connected us with eight families who wouldn’t have had a meal without help. From that small start, our mission grew. The following year, we expanded to 24 families, and in 2023, with the support of The Davis Team, we provided meals to 100 families. In 2024, thanks to the generosity of our community, we fed over 200 families, ensuring they had a warm Thanksgiving meal. What started as a single act of kindness has grown into a movement of compassion, proving that when we come together, we can make a real difference.

Our Mission

A Place at the Table is dedicated to ensuring that no family in our community goes hungry on Thanksgiving. Through the power of collective generosity, we work with local teachers to identify families in need and provide them with the essentials for a Thanksgiving meal. Our mission is simple: to bring hope, warmth, and a place at the table for everyone.
