How Buyers Should Interpret Today’s Market with interest rates around 6.3%
The Fed cut rates—but mortgage rates didn’t fall because the move was already priced in. What did happen is more important: rates stayed near 2025 lows while inventory remained higher than last year, and buyer competition is still muted.
That stability gives buyers leverage now, before improving demand and future rate moves bring more competition back into the market.
